Planning The Music Video!
Song Title -
Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears
Props -
One prop is a suitcase, which the new teenager will roll in when entering the new town. Another prop that could be used in a scene is a basketball. Another prop is a picture frame of old friends. Other possible props can include bikes, a dog leash, pillows, blankets, and lastly a phone.
Costumes -
In our music video there are four central characters. Our actors will wear typical trendy teenager clothing throughout the video. In the first scene, the new teenager will wear comfortable clothing, as he or she was traveling. The friend group will be seen wearing athletic wear at the beginning of the music video as they are playing a sport. Throughout the video the costumes will change based on the locations and actions of the characters. They will be seen wearing athletic wear, such as athletic shorts, leggings, tank-tops, T-shirts, and running shoes. In other scenes the characters will be seen wearing clothing more for loose, fitting and relaxing such as sweatpants, T-shirts, tank-tops and simply socks.
Location List -
Our main location will be our group member’s, Jack Olson, house. This location will be used to display a meeting place of the friend group in the music video and will emphasize how they are an established group. At the house, we would film this group hanging out together, and later on, the new kid hanging out with them.
Our second location would be the neighborhood the house resigns in, meaning it would be where our group member, Jack Olson, lives. This neighborhood features various signs that can specify location which will be used to drive the idea forward that the new kid is entering a new city.
Schedule -
On 11/01/24: Our group will perform research to develop the conventions and protocols of the music video.
On 11/04/24: Our group will decide the backup plan, schedule, location list, costumes, location list, and props.
On 11/10/24: Our group will create a storyboard that outlines the scenes of our music video project.
On 11/16/24: Our group will meet at the planned location(s) and film all the scenes needed for the music video.
On 11/18/24: Our group will start editing and add finishing touches to our video leading to the completion of the music video project.
Backup Plan -
Seeing as some scenes involve filming outside, weather may prove to be an issue. If following our set schedule leads to our filming day getting rained out, we will move the outside scenes to an inside location. This brings our backup location, a mall. This is a good backup location because at a mall we can still capture the same eminence of a new kid entering a new area. This could be concluded as malls have been used to showcase clique settings many times before in past films. If the cameraman is someone from our group, and they happen to be absent, then we can have another individual that is familiar with the project and our idea help film our music video, helping us accommodate with a potential difficulty.
