Exciting beginnings in production!
Its official, pre-production has officially begun! To recap the project being dealt with, Valentina, my friend and classmate, and I are making an opening sequence to a thriller. The name we chose is "What Happened Last Night" and it unravels cryptic messages linking a friend group to their secret, regretful decisions. A huge part of this opening sequence is our choice is displaying all the title's. These titles include "Produced by," "Directed by," and such. In order to display these titles in a way that establishing the movie's thriller genre, I contributed in designing items to display the titles on. This included incorporating a title on a t-shirt being removed on a clothing rack. A priority in this production is to condense all expenses are the production team, Valentina and I, are rather low on funds. To adhere to this priority, I shopped at discount stores such as Dollar Tree and 5 Below. I found a plain t-shirt at my local dollar tree. With this t-shirt I took a marker that I already had to write out the title being displayed on the shirt in the opening sequence. As to what title is chosen, you'll have to wait to see the final product! My next task following the t-shirt, was my personal choice of incorporating unique, vintage lettering in the title sequence. Designing this was a collaborative process between Valentina and I. We had to discuss what we both wanted the letting to look like. Additionally, we also had to establish where and how we wanted this lettering to be incorporated. This discussion occurred during a class period we share, making this communication easy. Following the finalization of these details, I set out to gather the materials. I went to arts and crafts stores local to me. This included stores such as Micheal's and Staples. As far as what I bought, I bought items such as flannels and vintage-looking clothing items. My intention with these items was to trace and outline letters to cut out and spell out certain titles. As for how this will turn out, you will just have to wait and see when you watch the final product! I'm feeling optimistic and excited to continue production!
