Fun Filming! - Finalizing filming in production
Hey readers! I'm Jack, your editor, writing to you on expansions in production. As some of you may be aware, I am currently in the middle of production for a music video. The music video is for the song "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" by Tears for Fears. It is in collaboration with my best friends Valentina, Salome, and Francesco. Or honestly after the chaos day 1 of filming was, I'm better off saying they USED to be my best friends. All jokes of course! But going back to production, to summarize, my last update referred to my first day of filming. It wasn't the best experience and was definitely not the most productive. On the bright side, filming day 2 was a HUGE success! I invited everyone back to my house and it seems like everyone learned their lesson because to my surprise, everyone was on time! This allowed us to wrap up filming! For day 2, I continued my role as a supporting actor to Salome, the main girl. Part of filming today involved me creating the imagery of exclusion in the music video to emphasize on the new girl feeling out of place. I did this by including certain gestures in Valentina and I's acting when we first meet Salome in the music video. I also brought my creativity to the table once again. This really helped to enhance the emotional elements to the music video, as well as adding some nice flow. One of my ideas we filmed was a transition. This transition as done through fading in and out of Salome's hair. I put this transition in between where Salome first sees her future friends walking to when she goes up to say hi. I really hope this looks fluent in the final product! Some other scenes I help to direct in was the bedroom scene, after the new girl makes her new friends. I helped guide the proper emotions that should be displayed by Salome, which shows the completion of the gradual emotional shift I was trying to create in the music video. I suggested her having a smirk and a face showing joy as well as making the bedroom brighter than the initial scene. Having the room be brighter emphasizes her new happiness and creates a deeper comparison to the beginning of the commercial where she's sad in a dark bedroom. I also wanted to create a mirror effect with her wallpaper, having it be a photo of her old friends in the beginning, and then a photo of both her old and new friends at the end. This will show how she finally feels like she truly belongs. With all of this successful filming, and new fun additions, I am feeling very hopefully on how the final product will look. All that is left is editing!
