Moving along in production - Editing!

Image
Hey guys! Major update on our production process! So as you may all know, the previous stage of production had involved filming our planned scenes in addition to extra ones. While filming I made it a point to get every angle of every shot and film everything multiple times. Although I think this was critical to our production process, it left day 2 of our production to be targeted towards sifting through all of our footage. With this, my contribution to this stage of production was to assist in completing the sifting process. I categorized all of our footage and related each seat to our storyboard. From there, I then watched back every scene filmed for every box drawn on the storyboard and kind of had to imagine its potential in the final commercial. This helped me know what scenes and angles to keep, in addition to knowing which ones to scrap. I then communicated my opinion on the scenes I thought were objectively the best with Valentina. After this, we came to an agreement on th...

The Start of Production - Filming!

Hey guys! I'm so excited to let everyone know production has officially begun for the commercial! After various planning dates and sketches to outline the most perfect commercial, we have finished filming. Valentine and I met on our originally planned filming day and were ecstatic to start. Luckily, the weather complied with our filming schedule and at the beach it was sunny and bright! To start on the day, I changed into my first outfit for the commercial, my beach outfit. This consisted of a flow shirt and bathing suit shorts.I then presented the props I contributed to Valentina, including a beach towel and volleyball. After I made sure I had all the props I needed for my scenes, we went down to the shore and started to film. For filming, I acted as both an actor and videographer. I assisted in making sure we got all the necessary angles for each scene, making sure we would get the perfect shot. By besides my filming skills, I also starred as an actor in the commercial. For the ...

Our Commercial Storyboard!

Image
Hey! A little update on production, we've outlined each scene of the commercial via storyboard template. Scene 1: Two actors are seen gloomy, bored in a mundane setting. They’re seen visibly bored, watching TV while eating chips on the coach.   Scene 2: One actor reaches in to grab the product and bring it to the two actors.   Scene 3: A slow- mo shot of product being sprayed while the actors are sniffing the new scent.   Scene 4: Zoom in on product while still in house setting.   Scene 5: Zoom out from product, transitioning to the new beach setting. The actors are seen very happy and surprised at the beach.   Scene 6: Actors are seen playing volleyball on the beach, with visible joy. One hits the volleyball into the sunny sky.   Scene 7: While volleyball is in the sky, as it begins to fall the brand name and logo appear in the sky. Voiceover reads these words to conclude the commercial.
