The Start of Production - Filming!
Hey guys! I'm so excited to let everyone know production has officially begun for the commercial! After various planning dates and sketches to outline the most perfect commercial, we have finished filming. Valentine and I met on our originally planned filming day and were ecstatic to start. Luckily, the weather complied with our filming schedule and at the beach it was sunny and bright! To start on the day, I changed into my first outfit for the commercial, my beach outfit. This consisted of a flow shirt and bathing suit shorts.I then presented the props I contributed to Valentina, including a beach towel and volleyball. After I made sure I had all the props I needed for my scenes, we went down to the shore and started to film. For filming, I acted as both an actor and videographer. I assisted in making sure we got all the necessary angles for each scene, making sure we would get the perfect shot. By besides my filming skills, I also starred as an actor in the commercial. For the beach scenes, I acted in both solo scenes and scenes with Valentina, all aligning with our storyboard. For my solo scenes, I wandered around the beach, dazed and shocked by my surroundings. I made to really encapsulate the excitement of being at the beach with my acting. Additionally, I made sure with all my movements in my scenes I was carrying the plot along, making everything seem cohesive. I also made sure to brush up on my volleyball skills to make sure the scenes we filmed playing volleyball would look good in post production. As far as directing, I wanted to make sure we had more than enough footage to edit with, so i assisted in guiding Valentina through her scenes and our duo scenes by brainstorming different types of motions and activities we could film on the beach. By doing this, we got a variety of beach scenes. After ensuring we got all the footage at the beach needed, we concluded our filming on the beach. The next set of scenes we to be shot at my house, these would be the intro to the commercial. These scenes were rather simple, living little need for direction when filming. My contribution in these scenes mainly was with my acting. I made sure to adequately portray a teen suffering from extreme boredom. I believe I did this rather perfectly. But all in all, this concluded filming, and furthermore part 1 of production.
