Tidious Territories... - Production Update
Hey blog readers! Here’s another update in our contrition of production! This update I’ll explain to you guys the progress Valentina and I have made in production. Editing is easily the hardest part of producing any body of media. Especially with the scheduling changes we’ve had to make along the way. But anyways, after selecting the clips to edit, it’s time to actually edit them. I focused on the length of the clips, carefully adjusting where the start and end so everything meshes together cohesively. I used CapCut, a popular editing platform, which made the process so much easier. I arranged all the clips together and adjusted their length to fit everything in the 2 minute time range. Following, I went in YouTube to find sound effects I could add to the ambiance of the film. I tried finding phone notification sounds, doors slamming, drums beating, and anything that I could add to our film to give it more thriller elements. But before adding those, I had ti find a foundation sound that could play in the background of all the clips. I, once again, searched on YouTube to find a royalty-free background music. I eventually found two that Valentina and I both really liked for the film. Both of these different songs kind of displayed the evolution of the film. Even though they were two different sounds, having them separate the tones in the film would further develop the thriller genre. After finding them and adding them to the clips, I faced a slight issue. I realized the dialogue in the script was quite low compared to the music. So as a solution, I raised the volume to the film clips and levered the volume of the background music. This helped the music seem as if it was lingering in the background of the film, while helping the dialogue be more audible. After sort of audio engineering this film, that concludes this editing update! I’ll be providing you guys with more information ASAP! Can’t wait to see the final result and share it!
