Finaling touches in production - Finalizing!
Hey! I'm glad to say that after numerous days of production, it has now come to an end. As a recap of stages prior to this one, we started by first planning with a storyboard and the filming. Following filming, we started editing all of the clips together, making sure to pick the best out of the bunch. Finally, here we are at the final stage of production where I finalized editing to make everything cohesive. One key element in the commercial I worked hard to perfect was the triple split screen shot. This short featured a video of the product in the middle and then on both sides there was two different clips of Valentina and I on the beach. This added a fun, unique feature to the commercial that kept the flow adequately. Another feature that helped made the commercial cohesive was the little white stickers I added. Throughout the commercial, you can see little white squiggly lines and dots. These helped to add some personality to the commercial, and help bring the playful energy into fruition. This playful energy was also made with the music choice I made. I chose an upbeat song as a reference for the timing of each clip featured in the commercial. I also perfected the closing scene, to end the commercial in a nice way. I chose the scene of Valentina and I sitting on a towel of us sitting at the ocean. The camera then pans up to the blue, clear sky which I saw as a perfect opportunity to featured the brand title, "Bath and Body Works." So, in editing I inserted the title and under it the slogan, "Come back to your senses." When adding in these texts, I wanted to continue the breezy and freeing feelings in the commercial. To help do this, I added in special text affects to the title and slogan. For the title, I had it slowly fade in, appearing from left and then slowly adding in to the right. After the title was fully added, I had the slogan fade in as a whole, sitting under the title for better formatting. When all of this final editing additions were made, the commercial was finished. I watched the final product over many times to make sure the editing add-ins weren't too overdone and chaotic. I also kept track of the flow to make sure everything was paced out nicely without feeling rushed. When all of this was said and done, I was finally satisfied with our commercial.
